Tag-along cultural tours
A tag-along tour is a guided tour in which we lead in our vehicle and you follow in your vehicle. You bring all your own food and supplies, including your tent and any other campsite requirements.
The tour details:
- Self-drive – 4WD vehicle essential
- Self-catered
- Campsite accommodation
- 2 guest vehicles per tour
The accommodation:
You can pitch your tent at our base camp, where you’ll find showers and toilets. If you would prefer to spend your nights in a more traditional bush camp, alongside a watering hole with bucket showers and bush toilets, we can make that happen too. We can also access local tourist parks for caravan and cabin accommodation if desired.Â
Â
The services:
There is a landline telephone at our base camp, but no mobile phone service west of Daly River. A bush airstrip is located at YANTJARRWU Outstation.
Â
The cost:
Starting from $349 per vehicle per day (up to 2 adults and 1 child). If you have additional children, please contact us.
The itinerary:
We’re flexible with the itinerary and can customise it to suit you. Optional cultural experiences at base camp include:
- Welcome to Country ceremony
- Traditional dancing
- Fishing (catch and release)
- Bush tucker
- Hunting and preparing food for a meal (fresh skinned wallaby!)
- Men’s business: making spears and digeridoos
- Women’s business: making damper and weaving
- Rag burning (Aboriginal memorial ceremony)
